Legal Disclaimer

Last updated: 12 September 2026

This page sets out the limits of what LawMitran does. It applies to everything on the platform — the lawyer directory, submitted requirements, document templates, document checks, legal guides and any automated or AI-generated response. Please read it before relying on anything you find here.

1. No legal advice

LawMitran is an information and discovery platform. It is not a law firm, does not practise law, and does not provide legal advice, legal opinions or legal representation. Everything published on the platform is general legal information.

General information is not a substitute for advice on your own facts. Laws, court fees, stamp duty, procedures and timelines differ between states and change over time, and the outcome of any matter depends on details specific to it. Before you act, sign, file or pay anything, have a qualified advocate advise you on your actual situation.

2. No advocate–client relationship

Using the platform, reading a guide, generating a document, or submitting a requirement does not create an advocate–client relationship between you and LawMitran. Nothing you send to LawMitran is protected by advocate–client privilege. A relationship with an advocate begins only when you and that advocate agree it directly, on terms the two of you set.

3. Lawyer listings are informational, not endorsements

Advocate profiles are built from information the advocate submits. Profiles are reviewed by our team before they appear publicly, and as part of that review advocates provide their Bar Council enrolment details and upload their enrolment certificate. Other details — experience, languages, courts and office locations — are provided by the advocate and may be updated by them after approval.

  • Profile approval is not an assessment of an advocate’s skill, experience, judgement or suitability for your matter.
  • A listing is not a recommendation, endorsement, referral or solicitation by LawMitran.
  • In keeping with Bar Council of India rules, LawMitran does not advertise or promote individual advocates, and does not display client ratings or star ratings on their profiles. Ordering and listing are neutral and criteria-based.
  • Where a profile shows a badge awarded by the platform, the page says so and explains that it is generated automatically from platform activity — it is not an award from any court, bar body or industry organisation.

Please satisfy yourself about any advocate independently before engaging them. We do not supervise advocates, set or collect their fees, or take part in their engagement with you.

4. AI-generated and automated output

AI output is generated by technology and can be wrong

  • Answers from the platform’s legal Q&A, automated document checks and any other AI-assisted feature are generated automatically by software, not written or reviewed by an advocate for your matter.
  • AI output can be incomplete, out of date, or simply incorrect, and may miss something important in your documents or your situation.
  • You are expected to read the output carefully and check it before relying on it. Depending on what is at stake, you may need it reviewed by an advocate — and for anything significant, you should get that review.
  • AI output is not legal advice, not a legal opinion, not a title opinion or title clearance, not a certification, and not a guarantee that a document or property is valid, complete, dispute-free or free of encumbrances.
  • An automated check reports what it found in the material given to it. It cannot see documents it was not given, it does not search government records unless the page says otherwise, and it does not confirm that anything it read is genuine.

5. Document templates and generated documents

Document templates on LawMitran follow standard formats and are general-purpose material. They may not suit your facts, your state, or your commercial intent.

  • A document generated through LawMitran is not automatically legally valid simply because it was generated here. Validity depends on correct drafting for your facts, proper execution and witnessing, correct stamp duty, and registration where the law requires it.
  • Stamp duty and registration charges are statutory amounts payable to the government. LawMitran does not collect them as part of its own charges, and the rates and processes are set by the relevant state.
  • Optional add-ons such as lawyer review, electronic signature or e-stamping are facilitated through third parties and are subject to those providers’ terms and availability.
  • For anything high-value, contested, or with long-term consequences, have an advocate review the document before you sign it.

6. No government affiliation

LawMitran is a privately operated platform. It is not a government website, a government department or agency, an official court service, a Bar Council or any other statutory body, and it is not affiliated with, authorised by, accredited by or endorsed by any government authority, court, tribunal or bar body in India.

Nothing on the platform is an official government record, certificate, filing or communication. Where we describe a statutory process, a fee, a form or a government portal, that is a general description for your information only — always confirm it against the relevant official source. Any statute, rule or case referred to on the platform belongs to its issuing authority; we simply describe it.

7. No guarantees

LawMitran does not guarantee any legal outcome, that an advocate will respond to your requirement, that a document will be accepted by any authority or counterparty, or that information on the platform is complete, current or free from error. The platform is provided on an “as is” basis. Our liability is limited as set out in section 7 of the terms of use.

8. Third-party content and links

The platform contains information supplied by advocates and other users, and links to third-party websites and services. We do not control or independently verify that material and are not responsible for it. Following an external link takes you to a site governed by someone else’s terms and privacy practices.

9. Reporting a problem

If anything on LawMitran is inaccurate, misleading, out of date, or infringes your rights — including copyright — tell us and we will look into it. Email support@lawmitran.com or use the grievance page. Content found to be infringing or inaccurate is removed or corrected.

10. Changes to this disclaimer

We may update this disclaimer from time to time. The version published here is the one that applies, and material changes will be notified on the platform. It should be read together with our terms of use, privacy policy and refund & cancellation policy.
